HOWEVER, it is not because of the ‘his-story’ as u described/pasted above.go n check the real history again. the last city of muslim realm in spain (Granada) was surrendered to the christians( ferdinand n isabella) on 2 JANUARY 1492, NOT 14 FEB 1492.

regarding this saint valentino,valentine was believed to hv lived during claudius the 2nd punye reign.ie during roman empire. (around 200AD++). nabi muhammad S.A.W lahir pd 570 AD…. so how can this valentine arahkn org celebrate kejatuhan islam kt spanyol y beratus2 tahun after muhammad(saw)’s death?
mngenai pemilihan 14 feb sbg hari valentine, selain drpd pndapat itu adelah hari si valntine tu mati, mgkin juga attributed to the fact that feb was bird-mating season (kt france n ade satu country lg nih. x igt da), n satu lg pndapat, it is a christian celebration to welcome the converting pagans (sun worhipper, gods-worshippers etc) mase early christian era dulu.
i ve googled numerous websites( reviewed sources ) about valentine, roman empire and history of spain. and not even once had i found any association btween islam n valentine (selain drpd emel2 n post2 kt frenster tu, n unreviewed sources ie blog persendirian etc n cerite ni i only found dlm bhs melayu.)

i once asked my christian friends about this story, n she was so damn surprised and looked so dejected n i instantly regretted asking her about it.
valentine story according to mass majority of christians are that this saint was imprisoned n while in there he helped a couple ( or a few couples? not sure) to communicate with each other as males n females were in separate blocks.as a priest, this guy had a privilege to walk around the prison quite freely(he had to conduct confessions session n all other christian rituals i guess)

in short, my points are ;
1. Valentine is obviously a kind of religious celebration (initially) w/pn skang sgt secularised already.same thing w krismas, very2 much secularised. so kite x leh smbut di sebabkn fact ini:)

2. islam is a religion of peace that shd be free from any association with fitnahs, mitos n provocative stories. true, muslims n jews were massacred after the fall, but as far as history is concern it has nothin to do with 14th feb!so, betulkn la niat kita, dr elok2 dapat pahala, sekali kite dpt dosa lk sebab sebar fitnah n hatred kn.this is just an example. got belambak2 lg emel fwd y x berasas cmni.
